PROJECTGOALS: To create a layout inspired by an AIGA medal winner that represents their style but also gives a bit of information and insight into this person’s style. Gene Federico’s zine collection was highly popular in his time, one of which was about apples. He was very experimental with his typographic layout. This typographic style doesn’t align with traditional design principles but closely resembles the playfulness and ambition to stand out as a different kind of designer that Gene Federico was so great at portraying through his work. The below images are photographs of his original work in the late 1950s.
